It's that time of year again .. the International Cheese Awards at Nantwich. As usual we sent in a few entries to give our High Weald Dairy friends a bit of competition in the goatie cheese classes. And, like last year, I was just scanning the results to find out what they had won when I did a bit of a double-take.
Class DP112 Shaggy's Beard Camembert has won the class with a gold medal! Woo hoo!!!!! Well done goatie cheesemakers!!!!
And, to cap it all, further down the list was Class DP202 ... Ellie's Dairy Smoked Cheese - silver medal!!!! This is great news for our colleagues at the newly opened Margate Smokehouse who smoke our delicious cheese over applewood. A team effort .. well done us!
Still can't quite believe it ... just have to check those results again ...
From the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty we bring you the best milk, cheese and meat. Traditional responsible and ethical farming means free range access to grazing with all feed, including hay from our own ancient meadows, GM and chemical-free and blended by us.
We know the name and personality of every single member of our pedigree herd of happy healthy goats. We love - and thoroughly spoil – every one of them, male and female alike.
Brilliant news for all of your team. It makes for a happy smile on your face after the loss of your big trailer, broken fridge and sick big van. Now why she hasn't brought home any of that smoked cheese is something I will have to have a few words with her about..
ReplyDeleteSo exciting for you! :-) A friend told me about your site and I'm so happy to find you. :-) We raise Kalahari goats in Australia and have 15 babies running around at the moment. So cute. :-)
